BE FRIENDLY AND UNDERSTANDING

GOD TAUGHT ME AN UNUSUAL LESSON

Yesterday I added a new member on our facebook page on request to join the Group.

As usual I will seek background info on all request before approval, so we wont add the wrong persons. Its not an error proof method but its helping so far.

On her profile she wrote: “I am friendly and understanding”

Friendly and understanding….those two words strike a chord inside me. How I wish individual of us can say that of ourselves and truly mean it. Friendly and understanding mean you have a ready excuse for people misbehaviour and wrongs they may do to you, and you never take any of them to heart. What a way to pursue peace with all men and live a holy life without stress (Heb 12:14).

That’s how I want people to see us, especially our spouses, friends, relatives and coworkers… By that peace will return to many homes and relationships and others will readily see Jesus in us all. Let your children know you and see you as a living emblem of these two mature qualities.

That was what kept Abigail with Nabal as bad as he was and no single record of domestic crisis while that relationship lasted (1 Samuel 25:3). Abigail was full of understanding and very friendly.

Those two words summarise life itself. It is not enough to be a Christian, it is very important to be friendly and understanding. That was what Jesus was to the world around Him while He walked the earth. Let the world see a different you from today. Be friendly and understanding with all men.
