Tips on How To Prepare for the Online Night Meeting

Have you ever dozed off few minutes to the start of the Weekly Joint Session?

Or practically sleep all through the session because you are tired and weary from the day’s job?

Here are tips that my family and I have used over time to get refreshed and get ready for the 1hour /1:15hour weekly prayer every Tuesdays.

1. I set my mind on it all day. This is very important, what you set your mind on has a way of controlling events around you during the day. It is a spiritual principle.

2. As much as possible I get back home early enough before nightfall, except when it is extremely difficult for me to do so.

3. We get dinner ready early, except when we can’t help it, on or before 7:30 – 8:00pm. Planning for dinner start from the very first hours of Tuesdays.

4. We avoid the TV temptation We try as much as possible not to put the TV on to avoid being caught up with “an entertaining program”. The state of mind before a vigil is very important to receiving from God. No better way to pollute the heart before a prayer vigil than to sit and watch TV late into the beginning of such program.

5. We Get to bed on or before 8:30pm, sometimes earlier, and sometimes later. I pray and ask God for at least an hour or two of sleep before the hour for the vigil. I rarely forget to ask God for a good sleep (every night) even if it’s for 30min. Sometimes the time may be too short for sleep, so I just lie down, close my eyes, meditating with God and have a good rest. I always stand up refreshed.

6. Never trust your flesh The human body can play a joker if allowed, so aside praying and trusting God to wake up on time, I set alarm on at least two phones, if one fails, the other won’t. This has been of tremendous benefits to me.

7. On the agreed time, God wakes me up I gets up very refreshed and ready to receive from God, Who is always waiting to bless even before the prayer is set on.

8. On the Wednesday of the Prayer and Fasting, I set my mind of the prayer points above all else, even when working, I’m praying. Prayer and work can go together if your mind is truly set to pray.

Try these steps where you can, a tired and weary body is never a friend of prayer. Getting rid of weariness and tiredness is central to making your body a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1) before God during the hour of prayers.

Hope to see you tonight, refreshed and ready to receive, God bless you and keep you refreshed before Him always in Jesus Name. Amen
